The pleasure of grounding every time
How it works

In the Working Zone, textured arlita beads, volcanic stone and quartz awaken every nerve ending underfoot, sharpening concentration and igniting creativity. Slide into the Rest Zone, where soft grass-like fibers hug your soles and let you exhale—feel the pleasure of pure grounding as you reset. Whether you’re sitting or standing barefoot at your desk, this dual-surface mat guides you seamlessly from productive flow to soothing pause. Your feet have been asleep until now—bring them back to life with Barefield.

The Story of Barefield
Imagine a windswept Atlantic cliff at dawn—somewhere along the wild coast of Northern Spain—where the first golden rays kiss the volcanic rock and the ocean’s breath hums through salt-touched grasses. That’s where our story begins.
David, a lifelong barefoot wanderer, had always felt a secret yearning under his feet. Growing up near San Sebastián, he’d stroll across cool stone promenades, rugged coastal paths, and rocky tidal pools, marvelling at how his toes seemed to sing with every texture.
But later, sitting at his desk in a glass office in Barcelona, he felt a dull disconnect—as if his feet, once so alive, had drifted asleep under the weight of city pavements, metro floors, and stiff shoes.
One sleepless night, inspired by memories of grounding on ocean-worn stones, David gathered three humble treasures: luminous quartz from a friend’s mountain refuge in the Pyrenees, smooth volcanic pebbles brought back from a trip to the Canary Islands, and tiny arlita beads—each one light as air but full of hidden strength. He arranged them carefully on an old woven mat, closed his eyes, and pressed his bare feet into the mosaic.
In that instant, he felt it: a gentle electric pulse, like the Earth whispering through his soles. Every bead, every stone, pulsed with life—stirring sensations he hadn’t realized were buried. His feet were waking up. They tingled. They urged him to “feel the bliss” of this simple communion.
Over the next weeks, David refined that first “grounding carpet,” sewing the stones into soft, hand-crafted pads that warmed to his skin, made in a small European workshop. Each version was a love letter to his feet: four times more sensitive than his hands, they held a universe of nerve endings longing to reconnect with the planet.
By morning, he would move between his home office and his yoga mat, every step grounded in that subtle electric hum.
Word spread among friends scattered across USA, Europe—Barcelona, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam—people who had forgotten how alive their feet could feel. They shared snapshots of Barefield carpets laid beneath sleek standing desks, in cozy living rooms with city views, and on sunlit balconies high above the streets. These little texture-scapes invited everyone to “reconnect with your feet” and remember how deeply we evolved to touch the Earth underfoot.
And so, from an Atlantic cliffside epiphany to a growing community of barefoot dreamers across Wolrd.
Barefield was born.
